Underlying these questions, however, has always been the larger question of why we are continuing to invest in fossil fuel infrastructure at all given our international climate commitments. Suicide Prevention Services (SPS) assists elderly individuals who may suffer from a negative mindset, and may feel disconnected from their families or the world at large. One cause of this disconnection may be a result of older individuals being unfamiliar or uncomfortable with modern communication technologies such as smartphones and apps. Join alumni UBC Hong Kong volunteers for an interactive workshop (in Cantonese) where UBC alumni will help small groups of elderly people, selected by SPS, experience the possibilities brought about by smartphones and apps.
Human beings are hardwired for storytelling. However, telling a compelling story that people buy into is not easy. Have you ever presented an idea but failed to close the deal? This interactive workshop will help you advance your communications skills by teaching you how to craft a simple yet persuasive story that sells. Not only will you have time to practice and receive instant feedback, but you will also be able to network before and after the session.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
